88 Seniors to Graduate from SC Whitmore School this Weekend

May 24, 2016

Press Releases

Columbia, SC – Eighty-eight seniors will be receiving their high school diplomas from SC Whitmore School this Saturday during the school’s spring commencement exercises at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

SCWS is a leader in offering unique learning environments to its students. Since 2012, over 200 students from across South Carolina have graduated from SCWS.

Principal John Loveday also announced the Valedictorian for the Class of 2016, Noelle Walas of Tega Cay, South Carolina.

“We have so many wonderful and talented students at SC Whitmore School,” said Principal John Loveday. “Noelle is one of the brightest and she has worked very hard to become Valedictorian.”

Noelle finishes her high school career with a 4.479 GPA at the age of 17. She is still undecided about where she will attend college but has narrowed her choices down to the University of South Carolina, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill or Boston College, where she will pursue a degree in international banking.

SCWS thanks the faculty, staff, and parents for their support and dedication to the SCWS family and the school’s mission of providing a flexible, high-quality education to South Carolina students.

“We are pleased to provide all of our high school students with opportunity to achieve academic success in the learning environment that works best for them,” said Principal Loveday. “I am so incredibly proud of our students and all they have achieved during their time with SCWS. I wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”

Founded in 2011, SCWS is a free virtual public charter school offering academic opportunities to students who don’t fit the traditional brick and mortar school. For more information visit http://scwhitmoreschool.org.
