“SCWS promotes individuality. I have been an example of that. My teachers were invested in my education helping and coaching me through high school, SAT, and even through the summer. I had one-on-one help offered to me five days a week beyond the limitations of a six hour school day. I was able to finish early because I had that flexibility that SCWS is so famous for! I was able to master concepts that I can still recall today. On the other hand, had I went to a brick and mortar school I don’t think I could say the same. SCWS has been not only a school, but a place where potential is nourished. I am evidence of the motto – School Your Way.”
– Serenity Johnson, who plans to attend Southern New Hampshire University
“SC Whitmore was a wonderful opportunity for my James. It’s hard to believe he is only 16 and has already completed high school.”
– Kathy Cuppia, mother of James Davis who plans to attend The Citadel
“The flexibility SCWS provides to our student body allows them to learn, study and test at their own speed. Some of our students choose to spread out their school year, while others choose to move more rapidly. The great thing about our school is we leave it to the student and their parents to make the decision that works best for them. It is truly School Your Way”
– SCWS Principal John Loveday
SCWS is a tuition-free, virtual charter public high school that was founded in 2011 and aims to engage students in mastery learning. The school’s objective for students is to become independent learners in a challenging way while giving them the essential tools for success that they may need. This unique environment of learning is an alternate form of education for students who may be on an accelerated track or need a flexible academic calendar.
