SCWS Class of 2017 Announces Valedictorian and Salutatorian
June 1, 2017

Columbia, SC – South Carolina Whitmore School, a virtual charter public high school, is proud to announce the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the Class of 2017.
Hanna Hall is the Valedictorian of the Class of 2017. Hall, who lives and works in North Augusta, has been taking dual-credit courses at USC Aiken while completing her course requirements at SCWS. She will attend USC Aiken in the fall to pursue a degree in nursing.
Hall’s mother spoke highly of her experience at SCWS.
“SCWS let Hanna learn at her own pace, whether that was faster or slower, and they were always there to answer any questions or concerns that she had. SCWS challenged her more than the “normal” brick and mortar schools and without the unnecessary drama of high school. I could not be more pleased with the SCWS experience and how it has prepared Hanna for the future.”
Shelley Sasser is the Salutatorian of the Class of 2017. Sasser is a resident of Conway, SC where she performs as a solo artist and guitarist and singer in two bands. She also attended a music school to refine her understanding of music theory while taking classes at SCWS. She will attend Horry-Georgetown Technical College in the fall to pursue an associate degree in business.
Sasser said her decision to study at SCWS empowered her to complete her graduation requirements while at the same time pursuing her love of music.
“As a high school student, music became more than an extracurricular activity and hobby for me. I was compelled to understand music theory while advancing with guitar, drums, and vocal execution. SCWS further empowered me to pursue my dream not only to graduate from high school but to also consider a career in music.”
