I started my career in education in 1999 and have had the opportunity to teach grades 4k-adult education. The high school level is my favorite by far. I began my career with virtual schools when they first started in South Carolina in 2008.
I have a B.A. in Spanish from UNC Charlotte, a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, both from American College of Education. I taught Spanish here at SCWS for three years before moving into the Director of Curriculum and Instruction role.
I live in Charleston with my husband Robert, our two daughters, Julia and Maryn and our two dogs, Tipperary and Sumter. We love to travel, be outdoors on or near the water and hike. A couple days a week, I can be found at the ice skating rink watching my figure skating girls. When I need to warm up and can find some quite time, I am either reading or running.
I love knowing that SCWS is making a difference for students all over the state and we can meet our students virtually where they are.
