Director of Teacher Quality and Support
I have been teaching since 1998 and have been online exclusively since 2008. I have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a master’s degree in teaching, both from the University of South Carolina. Go Gamecocks! I have been involved in course development and spent time teaching in a brick and mortar school as well as via distance education in the past. I teach because I enjoy it! I learn just as much as I teach everyday!
In addition to teaching, I spent five years as the School Testing Coordinator and served as Social Media Coordinator for much of that time. In the spring of 2020 I transitioned to the role of Director of Teacher Quality and Support. I love working directly with our school’s teachers. We strive to set goals around building relationships and improving graduation rate.
On a personal note, I am married with two active boys and a dog. We spend a lot of time on the soccer field from August through April. Then our cleats are traded for flip-flops to enjoy the summer months. We love the beach and camping. We like the closeness of camping and making memories. No matter where we are I always have a camera pointed at someone or something to document our fun!
I enjoy working at SC Whitmore School because it is an environment full of passionate educators who want to see students succeed. I love knowing that I am helping to meet students’ needs in a way that works for each of them. We are student focused at SCWS and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
