Brannon Carter
Data Scientist

I was born in Arkansas, grew up and went to high school and college in Alabama, and I now reside in Spartanburg, SC. My wife and I have called the Upstate of South Carolina home since 2004 and we love it here! I married my college sweetheart in 1998 and we both began our teaching careers in Georgia in 2001.
I have a BS in Athletic Training from Troy University and a MS in Biology from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. I started my professional career as a Certified Athletic Trainer working in physical therapy and strength and conditioning before going back to graduate school to become a science teacher. I love human biology and enjoy teaching Anatomy & Physiology and other health and fitness related courses.
My current past-time is being spent learning and taking courses in a new career path in Data Science. I enjoy using computer programming to manipulate and clean data and to create beautiful graphics to help tell the stories of data. I’m also the school’s Data Scientist and work to help our school grow in the use of data to improve our school and student success.
