Hello, my name is Cyndi Hatcher. I live in Charleston, SC with my husband and two girls. My husband Eric is also a teacher at SC Whitmore in the Social Studies Department. My girls, Savannah and Grace, love gymnastics and ice skating. In the summer, we drive to Oregon and Colorado to visit family. It is a trip we look forward to every year and one that most people may think makes us a little crazy. We love to travel as a family!
This year will mark my 23rd year of teaching. I have taught in brick and mortar schools in SC and Washington State. I have had the opportunity to teach every math course offered, in every level from Tech Prep to Honors. I am certified to teach AP Calculus and AP Statistics. Statistics and Pre Calculus are my loves, but Algebra is dear to my heart as well since I have taught it every year. While this will be my first year at SC Whitmore, I have been teaching online for the past three years as an adjunct. I am so happy to now be working full time online.
I graduated from Clemson University in 1996 with a BS in Mathematics Teaching. I love going to school and basically never stopped once I got out. I received a Masters in Integrated Studies in 2002 from Cambridge College and a Masters in Administration from Charleston Southern University in 2014. In 2005 I earned my National Board Teaching Certification in Adult, Young Adulthood in Mathematics and renewed the certification in 2015. I truly believe everyone should be a lifelong learner and I continue to improve my practice through professional development.
SC Whitmore “School My Way” is designed to meet the needs of every learner. Having the option to learn at your own pace is not something available in most other schools. I look forward to building relationships with students and seeing their success. School is not a “one size fits all” process and SC Whitmore School understands that. I am so happy to be a part of an organization that is student centered, student driven, and goal-oriented to student success.
