Columbia, SC – SC Whitmore School is proud to announce that its National Beta Club has been recognized as both a 2025–2026 National Beta School of Distinction and a National Beta School of Merit, highlighting the school’s commitment to academic excellence, leadership, character, and service.
SC Whitmore School earned the School of Distinction designation by increasing Beta Club membership by at least 10% from the previous school year. This prestigious honor was awarded to just 2,959 clubs nationwide, recognizing SC Whitmore School among the nation’s outstanding Beta programs.
The school also earned the School of Merit designation by offering National Beta to students across all eligible grade levels. This award recognizes schools committed to providing students with opportunities to develop leadership skills, serve their communities, and pursue academic excellence. This prestigious honor was awarded to just 6,103 clubs nationwide, placing SC Whitmore School among a distinguished group of schools recognized for their commitment to academic excellence and student leadership.
These recognitions celebrate the dedication and accomplishments of SC Whitmore School’s Beta Club members and their commitment to making a positive impact.
In a congratulatory letter to the school, Bobby Hart, CEO said “This national award speaks highly of your commitment to academic excellence and illustrates your dedication to preparing students for their future.”
Award recipients will receive a National Beta School of Distinction banner to proudly display as a symbol of their accomplishment.
SC Whitmore School teacher and Beta Club Advisor Melissa Green said, “Seeing our Beta Club grow this year is a wonderful reflection of our students’ commitment to service, leadership, and making a positive impact in their community. I am incredibly proud of each member and the time and heart they have invested in serving others. This recognition is a celebration of what our students can accomplish when they come together with a shared purpose.”
The SC Whitmore School Beta Club members accrued a total of 519 hours, with each member earning a required minimum of 40 community service hours.
